Sustainable Forestry Practices
We diligently practice responsible, sustainable forestry.
We utilize the whole-tree harvesting method, meaning from the stump up, no part of the tree is wasted. While logs go to local sawmills, other parts of the tree such as treetops, limbs and brush are also utilized and turned into biomass, a vital renewable energy source.
We are well-versed in the rules and regulations regarding wetlands and water crossings. We also work with the Maine Natural Areas Program to verify if endangered species, sensitive habitats, or invasive species exist on the property prior to harvesting.

I have a property of about 50 acres of forest in Woodstock, had spoken with two foresters in the past, and got discouraged. When (Maine Custom) Woodlands was working on my neighbor's forest, I contacted them to see if they would work on my forest. They came to see the lot a few days later and made a proposal. They always responded quickly to questions.
They sent detailed information about the trees' processing each week, going to either energy companies, wood chips, or wood log companies. The total revenue was on target. Therefore, I am very satisfied with this project.
